William Jefferson "Bill" Clinton (born William Jefferson Blythe III; August 19, 1946) is an American politician who served as the forty-second President of the United States and the fortieth and forty-second Governor of Arkansas, as well as the fiftieth Attorney General of Arkansas. He served as President from January 20, 1993 – January 20, 2001. Governor of Arkansas from January 9, 1979 – January 19, 1981 and January 11, 1983 – December 12, 1992, and as Attorney General from January 3, 1977 – January 9, 1979.
His Administration as President saw the passing of welfare reform, the Don't Ask, Don't Tell policy, the North American Free Trade Agreement, and the State Children's Health Insurance Program. He was impeached for perjury after a scandal involving a White House intern and obstruction of justice. He has high approval ratings for Presidents out of office.
